Wilson was born at Junction City, Kansas, October 17, 1877, and came with her mother and three brothers to the Black Hills in the fall of 1879, where her father had preceded them in the spring of 1877. In the spring of 1880, the family moved to a ranch along the Belle Fourche river near Vale where her father had filed a squatter's right the year before. There she grew to womanhood.
She was joined in holy wedlock to Emil Milberg on December 30, 1902, and the couple lived for a number of years on a farm west of Horse Creek. They then homesteaded on Dry Creek northwest of Newell, and in about 1910 moved to the farm along Horse Creek southwest of Newell where they have since made their home.
